One can still see traces of this common cultural heritage in the language, traditions and material culture of the inhabitants, and the artists base their seven works of art on this heritage. The visual artist Málfríður Aðalsteinsdóttir is the curator and initiator of the art project, but also participating are Elsie-Ann Hochlin and Johannes Vemren Rygh from Norway, Guðjón Ketilsson and Kristín Reynisdóttir from Iceland, and Barbara Ridland and Roxane Permar from Shetland.
